RF tags have been applied since the introduction of unibody, accompanying the vehicle through the entire process of manufacturing and assembly through final quality control. With RFID, flexible production has matured dramatically. Now different types of tags and configurations can be manufactured in the same production line. The auto parts industry also has used RFID on a large scale for identifying inline manufactured parts of headlamps, air-conditioning systems, engines and others.
